This third fight between the reigning pound for pound champion and the best counterpuncher in boxing has "classic" written all over it. And that is just what we will witness as the two warriors clash again on November 12, 2011.
Marquez is coming off a spectacular, but controversial, one round KO win over Likar Ramos and Pacquiao has demolished a hall of famer who dominated the sport for decades, Shane Mosley.
Styles make fights but on November 12, weight will tell the difference as the two will fight at their heaviest, at a catch weight of 144 lbs. Manny may have an edge here having fought twice or thrice already in this weight range. Marquez, if we can still remember, fought Mayweather at the 145-147 weight class and suffered a devastating loss to the "Money". Marquez however again failed to impress the boxing world despite his win over Likar Ramos, in a fight which many think, including this writer, as fixed to hype up the upcoming mega fight with Pacquaio and erase momentarily Marquez's loss to Mayweather in the minds of the fans.
It's anyone's game, however, and I personally believe that Pacquiao will have the upperhand in weight and experience in the weight class of 144. Marquez has shown resiliency in the past, he gets knocked down, only to knock out his opponent in the later rounds. Marquez we will be a continuous threat from opening bell to the final round.
I am definitely watching this fight, which will be talked about in years and decades to come.
