MMA Notes- Silva vs. Cote

The fight between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote last Sunday did not enter the record books, not even the fairy tale book. The first round told it all. Silva did not have the fire to fight, Cote was trying hard to land a knockout punch. Silva played with Cote like he was his pet dog or something and Silva could have knocked him out in the first few minutes of round but he did not. silva could have ended it with a knee to the head, which he tried but did not do.

Why did he do that? I don't know. Some say Silva was mocking UFC President Dana White for giving him Patrick Cote, given Silva's superior skills and experience. Your guess is as good as mine. But every good fighter should always fight to the finish whoever the opponent. That would have been a better statement, rather than wasting the people's time and electricity by dragging the fight to three useless rounds.

I respect Silva, but last Sunday's fight made me think otherwise. Maybe Silva should fight Randy Couture instead. Now, that would be the fight of the century. Until then, I will not comment on any MMA fight anymore. This is my first and last. Good day!
